Newark Kit Car Festival – 2024

Hosted by Kit & Sports Car Show UK. 21st & 22nd September 2024

After a number of years of Newark show not being on the Kit car calendar. Kit & Sports car Shows who also host The National Kit Car Show in Malvern annually, decided to resuscitate the event last year.

The weather last year was a disaster and many of the major roads to the venue were flooded. Pete Slater, the organiser was not deterred and refused to be beaten by the weather and pushed to try the event again for 2025.

The sun did shine at least for the day on Saturday and many visitors came and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the cars. More manufacturers were in attendance than last year, and the event will only get bigger and better.

We exhibited four AK cars:

  1. AK40 demonstrator. A GT40 replica car “Juniper” who wowed the crowds when the back was lifted to reveal the Ford Coyote engine and stainless snake exhausts and throttle bodies.
  2. AK427 demonstrator. A Cobra Replica Car “Tilly” with her Chevy LS3 430 BHP engine with black ceramic exhaust side pipes framing the beautiful Cobra curves.
  3. AK427 “Trebor” a very special recently completed client factory build car. Showing his beautiful colour combination of yellow and grey. Running an Chevy LS3 engine on a fully automatic gearbox complete with paddle shifts.
  4. AK427 “Blue” a car built by a client back in 2001 and now available for sale. With a V8 Rover engine. Showing just how these cars do not date.

Jon, Neil and Wendi staffed the event and got to say hello to many existing clients on the Saturday who enjoyed a run out in their AK cars for the day and plenty of potential clients who are tempted to join the AK Clan and begin their build projects.
