AK Sportscars welcomes Neil Johnson as a new director

Neil Johnson has come to AK and will join Jon to run the company together. Neil has become increasingly involved in AK to develop the new model to AK’s range – the AKSS. Building on the success of the collaboration between Jon and Neil, this move formalises their working relationship which has developed since December 2018.
Neil comes from a rather unlikely background as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon but has always had a passion for cars. He built an AK Cobra in 2009 followed by a GT40 in 2015 and is now building a Dino replica, so very much a ‘hands on’ addition to the AK team.
Apart from enjoying the good natured ribbing from his two grown up sons, Neil enjoys classical music being an accomplished amateur musician and playing first oboe in two Norfolk orchestras as well as in smaller wind groups.
He says, “This is an exciting time in the continuing development of AK Sportscars. The AK Cobra has gained a well deserved reputation as one of the finest Cobras available and is now joined by the iconic AKSS. Jon and I are looking to add another exciting performance sports car to the line up at the end of the year. Watch this space!”
