Front caliper and steering arm bolts 2008/03/02 03:46
I gather the bolts which hold the caliper to the upright should be wired to prevent them from undoing, presumably as they may take a lot of shuddering and you obviously dont want either steering or caliper coming off! The long bolt goes through the centre of the stearing arm, this has holes for a wire. Another shorter bolt with a hole for a wire is fine for the far end of the steering arm and holds the top of the caliper as well. What about the bottom of the brake caliper? the only bolt of that size I have left is long enough but does not have a hole for wiring. Do all three need to be wired? Does it matterwhich is wired to which?

Cheers
Robin

Hello

The bolts with the holes in are used to fit the steering arm and should be wired (for SVA any bolt with holes has got to be wired, if it hasn't got holes it doesn't matter!). The bottom caliper bolt just has a split washer on it. Alternatively we have some 12.9 allen head bolts with lock washers which we can send you if you need them.

Regards
Lynda
